Lacey Guedry appointed to Spindletop Center board

The Hardin County Commissioners Court has appointed Lacey Guidry to serve as a member of the Spindletop Center Board of Trustees. She is the current owner and provider at Sour Lake Health and Medical in Sour Lake, Texas and has been since 2019.

Silsbee council splits votes on three issues

The Silsbee City Council met in regular session Monday night and had split votes concerning what time to meet, whether to offer free water services to the fire department, whether to refund tap fees to the fire department.

Crowd helps celebrate, views eclipse

The Big Thicket National Preserve celebrated its 49th anniversary last Saturday in conjunction with a solar eclipse, and the event was a big success. Megan Urban, preserve public information officer, said between 250 and 300 people came to spend much of the day enjoying the pretty weather, taking advantage of the treats available at the event, and getting to watch the moon go between the earth and the sun.
