Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis swore in 3 new deputies to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office on May 26 at the Hardin County Courthouse in Kountze. They were (left to right) Kyler Minton, Baylor Butler and Dalton Tinsley. The trio graduated the Police Academy recently and will ride with Hardin County deputies for the next 4 months for on-the-job training.

EVADALE — A 2-year-old boy drowned on May 22, according to Jasper County Sheriff Mitchell Newman.
KOUNTZE — The Hardin County Commissioners Court unanimously approved the operating plans to resume normal operations of the courthouse and all county buildings.

WOODVILLE — A Hardin County woman was arrested on drug charges after an arrested by Tyler County Sheriff’s Office deputies on May 22.
A Silsbee Fire Department firefighter extinguishes flames from a car fire on May 20 near the intersection of U.S. Highway 96 and Andover Road, south of Silsbee. No one was injured in the fire as the driver and passenger managed to escape the flames. The vehicle was a total loss.
