A woman who allegedly had agreed to sell her child and the couple who allegedly bought it were arrested last Thursday by Lumberton police. Harley Dee Matthews, 28, remained in the Hardin County jail at press time Tuesday on charges relating to the sale of the child and for insurance fraud.
More than 500 people came to the Lumberton High School Performing Arts Center Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16-17, to get free dental work done by an organization named Texas Mission of Mercy.

Wendy Rodgers, owner of the Tiger Hut, has agreed to run the Little League’s concession stand under the new moniker “Tiger Hut at the Ballpark” with a portion of the proceeds from sales going to the Little League.
