Three most wanted now in custody

AUSTIN – Three of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted offenders are back in custody following their recent arrests. Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Shane Burleigh was arrested August 18. Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives Terran Green and Daniel Noble were each arrested August 17. A Texas Crime Stoppers reward will not be paid in any of the arrests.

Vape store is robbed

The Vape n More store on Hwy 92 north of Silsbee was robbed by three hooded men last Thursday evening. Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis released the following: On August 31st at 6:04 p.m., Hardin County deputies responded to the Vape n More Store, located in the 3300 block of FM Hwy 92 in Silsbee, to investigate an aggravated robbery.

Sour Lake Lions get $1,000 grant

Funding to “Jumpstart the International Association of Lions Clubs Sour Lake” has been awarded by the Foundation For Southeast Texas. Although the Sour Lake Lions have been active in community service for over 90 years, nonprofit designation as a 501(c )3 wasn’t received until 2022. The $1000 grant facilitated the purchase of a laptop and Quick Books software to enhance quality record keeping. This grant facilitates a basic need for the Sour Lake Lions and will enable volunteers to better achieve their mission, “We Serve.”

Spurger man is seriously hurt in motorcycle wreck

A 31-year-old Spurger man is in very serious condition in a Houston hospital after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a car a few miles north of Silsbee last Friday morning. Justin Davis, the father of three children, was riding the motorcycle south on Hwy 92 when a car headed north turned left onto Ben D.
