Silsbee City Council OKs donations to businesses

The Silsbee City Council Monday night approved grants totaling $75,000 to six different businesses. Earlier, the council acted as the Silsbee Economic Development Corporation (EDC) in making the recommendations.

Blackfin pipeline to come near Silsbee, Evadale

A natural gas pipeline 193 miles long and three to four feet in diameter is planned to come near or through Silsbee and end near Evadale. WhiteWater Midstream of Austin, according to a report by East Daley Analytics, has received a permit from the Texas Railroad Commission to build the Bllackfin pipeline beginning sometime in mid to late 2024 and be completed in 2025.

PTO paints sensory pathways at Silsbee Elementary

Silsbee Elementary School playground received a colorful facelift this past week thanks to the Silsbee Elementary PTO. Last month, with the support from Principal Jennifer Duriac, the PTO board voted to upgrade the existing play areas by adding sensory pathways and color to two of the three playgrounds.

$84.5 million SISD bond vote set for November

The Silsbee Independent School District Board of Trustees, at a regular meeting on Aug. 8, unanimously approved an $84.5 million bond referendum to be included in the November 2023 election.
