EVADALE — The driver in a police pursuit from Vidor to Jasper County faces multiple charges, reported KJAS radio.

KOUNTZE — The Hardin County Commissioners Court conducted a workshop on June 15 to discuss the status of Hurricane Harvey recovery in Hardin County and disasterrelated recovery projects associated with this natural disaster.
KOUNTZE — A 6-yearold child died as results of injuries after being struck by a vehicle on private property on June 17, according to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.
KOUNTZE — An independent audit shows the county has a “healthy” fund balance.
KXOUNTZE — The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Silsbee man on multiple felony drug charges on June 18. According to Sheriff Mark Davis, Keniel Jemil Elam, 34, was arrested a n d charged with 4 drug offences including manufacture of cont rolled substance (crack cocaine), more than 4 grams (first-degree felony); manufacture of controlled substance (powder cocaine), more than 1 gram (second-degree felony); possession of controlled substance (alprazolam), under 28 grans (misdemeanor) and possession of marijuana (misdemeanor). He was also charged with felony assault (family violence). Elam was transported to the Hardin County Jail and his total bond was set at $82,250.
HARDIN COUNTY — County Judge Wayne McDaniel said COVID-19 is “getting worse,” just like in other places in Texas.
Silsbee Fire Department volunteer firefighters, along with the Silsbee Police Department, responded to a 18-wheel tractor trailer that caught fire on U.S. 96 about 12:42 p.m. June 22, south of Happy Kia in Silsbee. Northbound traffic on U.S. 96 was re-routed as firefighters extinguished the flames. The vehicle, owned by Miguel Paez of Houston, was pulling an empty trailer and it was a total loss.
