Betsy Richter to get Excellence in Education Award

Silsbee ISD is proud to be home to such passionate and dedicated heroes, with one shining brightly—Mrs. Betsy Richter, recipient of the prestigious Wayne A. Reaud Excellence in Education Award by the Beaumont Foundation. The Reaud Excellence in Education Award, as described by the Beaumont Foundation, is a celebration of outstanding contributions made by teachers. It acknowledges individuals whose leadership and dedication inspire a spirit of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities.

Columns wanted for Easter section

Easter is March 31 and The Bee will have a special Easter section in next week’s issue. Ministers of local and area churches are invited to write and submit a column about the resurrection no later than Monday, March 25.

Buna man is killed in motorcycle wreck

A 44-year-old Buna man was killed on Tuesday of last week when the the Suzuki motorcycle he was riding was in collision with a Honda Accord. The accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m.
