A Kountze woman was among the latest of six people who reportedly have died of fungal meningitis contracted from clinics in Mexico earlier this year. Jody Lynn Adkins, 39, of Kountze died in a Houston hospital on June 21 after reportedly having had cosmetic surgery earlier this year at one two clinics in Matamoros, Mexico, just across the border from Brownsville, Texas.
