The Silsbee Police Department has released the following information. Each individual named in this report is presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

May 9 Jathyn Young, 17, was arrested. by Officer Andrew Lange on an outstanding warrant.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Leading Texas health care and patient advocacy organizations today praised U.S. Rep. Jodey Arrington of Lubbock for reintroducing legislation that would give America’s seniors timely access to ground-breaking multi-cancer early detection (MCED) screening tests.

An organization called Revived Ministries is planning to have services at 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, May 25-28, at the city park at 805 Knupple Road in Silsbee.

The Silsbee Tigers baseball season ended when they dropped back to back games to Spring Hill in the area round of the 4A Baseball playoffs. The two teams played in Lufkin Thursday and Silsbee was defeated by a 5-2 score.

Two new members of the Kountze City Council are expected to be administered oaths of office when the council meets in regular session at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 18.

A Hardin County jury found a 68-yearold man guilty in four cases of sexual child abuse and sentenced him to life in prison for continual sexual abuse of a child last week. Charles Philip Hatton, a former employee of the Kountze Independent School District, had been indicted earlier by a Hardin County grand jury.

The Silsbee City Council met in regular session Monday night and voted 4-1 to lease the city building at 590 N. Sixth Street to an organization which would be operated by a local pastor.

The Silsbee High School Wall of Honor Committee met Tuesday and voted to select William Morrisey and Darrell McArthur for membership in the Wall of Honor. McArthur who graduated in 1986 is a McDonald’s All American basketball player who later attended the University of Houston.

The Silsbee Woman’s Club won several state awards at the 126th Annual Convention of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC-Texas) April 27—29 in Denton Texas. The Silsbee Woman’s Club, member of the Magnolia District, won four first place awards two second place awards and a Gold Star Award.
