The Silsbee Chamber of Commerce and the Silsbee Volunteer Fire Department are saddened to announce the Silsbee 4th of July Fireworks Celebration for 2023 has been canceled due to the lack of funding. The future of the fireworks celebration is totally dependent on the donations from area corporations, small businesses, and the citizens of small-town Silsbee.

Danny Reneau was elected mayor of Silsbee by a wide margin over John Henry Marble while Jim Shirey ousted Mary Adams for Place 3 on the Kountze City Council in the May 6 elections. Reneau received a total of 265 votes while Marble got 89 votes.
