Silsbee- The Lady Tigers lost last night to Hardin-Jefferson 3-0. In the first game, Silsbee was playing evenly matched against HJ until midway in the game. The score was 11-12 when the Lady Hawks started a scoring streak. At 12-19, the Lady Tigers began to bounce back with the ending score for the game being 17-25.

In game 2, Silsbee could not seem to get into a groove. Hardin-Jefferson’s combination of spikes, quick sets, and off-speed hits proved too much for the Lady Tigers. Plus, Silsbee was stuck in a streak of errors. They lost game two 12-25.

In the final game of the match, the Lady Tigers found a rhythm and played competively against HJ. Most of the match was a back and forth in the score. There were moments of extended play where neither team could get a point in.

Eventually, HJ won the game 18-25.

Overall, even with the loss, the Lady Tigers played solidly both offensively and defensively in the third game. Ca’Drian Martin had some great blocks and so did Kearstyn Hall. Martin continues to go for kills.

In the end, it was Silsbee’s errors that got the best of them. These missed opportunities led to a scoring streak

by HJ.
