Debra Ann Artis Young, 64, of Silsbee, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022. She was born in Louisiana to Alfred Artis and Ruby Ceasar Artis.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 24 at Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Silsbee. A Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. the day of service at the church.

Debra spent nearly all her life in Silsbee, leaving for a brief stint to be with her husband in Illinois and in Abilene, Texas. After a brief time as a Commissary worker in Abilene, she returned to Silsbee to be a friend to all that she met. Debra spent her adult life as a loving wife (48 years with David), mother, friend, and especially as a devoted caregiver to her son, Byron, and the rest of her family. Her close relationship with her daughter, Angela was and will remain inspirational. She was primary caregiver to her father and mother up until the time of their death, and she spent countless hours sharing her time in support of friends and family throughout Texas and Louisiana. She will be missed by everyone.

Debra is survived by her husband, David Young of Silsbee; daughter, Angela Young Pigott of Silsbee; son, Byron Young of Silsbee; and grandson, Keyshawn Davis of Silsbee. She is also survived by her siblings, Michael Artis and wife Sheila of Beaumont, Alfred Artis and wife Joanne of Sunnyvale, California, and Farrell Artis of Silsbee; eleven nieces and nephews throughout Texas, California, Illinois, and Florida; three loving aunts, Laura, Lula, and Agnes; and countless cousins and other relatives.

Debra is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Artis; mother, Ruby Artis; sister, Barbara Sullivan; and brother, Darrell Artis.
