Douglas Keith Howard, Sr., 66, of Silsbee, departed this life on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital surrounded by his beloved family.

Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until the funeral begins at 11am. Interment will be at Kirby Cemetery in Silsbee.

Douglas Keith Howard, Sr. was born August 21, 1956, to Christine and Herman Howard, Sr. in Silsbee. Doug accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Sampson Booker. Later, he would continue his spiritual journey at The Word Church under the leadership of Rev. Nathaniel Scott, III.

Doug Keith received his formal education through the Silsbee Public School System, where he graduated High School in 1976. Doug was a natural athlete and excelled in baseball. As an adult, he played in a popular Summer Baseball League on the team “Hangovers”.

Doug Keith worked as a Funeral Director with Colemans Funeral Home. He was a faithful employee that worked to ensure that families where comforted and that services remained in order. Today, Colemans’ Funeral Home is doing the same for his family.

Doug was a kind and caring soul, forever the peacemaker, and a humble servant. He was a constant source of support to his mother and family. He will truly be missed by all those he knew and loved him.

Douglas Keith Howard, Sr. was preceded in death by his father, Herman Howard, Sr., and his sister, Patricia “Pat Pat” Robertson.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Christine Howard of Silsbee; daughter, Christina Howard Veazie (Jordon); sons, David Garrett (Dee) and Douglas Keith Howard, Jr. (Chelsea), all of Beaumont; brothers, Herman Jr. (Gwendolyn) of Hillister, Herbert Sidney of Beaumont, and Jerry of Silsbee; sisters, Linda Reddix (Dean) of Beaumont and Pamela Fulton of Silsbee; and his beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
