A few days ago, the love of my life left this place for his heavenly home. We began dating when I was fifteen and were married for forty-eight years. Like so many others, we had our ups and downs, sorrows, and adventure, and over time learned to enjoy the good days and weather the bad, AS PARTNERS. That’s what life should be about, and we did it together. I will miss him more than even I realize at this moment. He loved me more than life itself, and I him. Our lives changed the day our children were born, and again on the arrival of our grandchildren. Spending time with his family made him happier than anything else could have, and anyone that knew him knew that about him. Given the chance, he would’ve given us all the world.

Cleve only loved one thing as much as he did his family, and that is the Lord. He wanted to be what he called “God’s OWNED Man.” He was saved as a boy and felt a calling to the ministry. When Cleve died, he had just reached his 51st anniversary as a minister. It was what he and I dedicated our lives and family to. Cleve’s heart was always to represent love and to share the heart and love of God with those around him. Even at the end, while he was in so much pain and so tired from all of the trips in and out of the hospital, he continued to express love and appreciation to those that spent time caring for him and took a genuine interest in their lives. He loved people, and they loved him. I admired him so and loved him with my entire being. I am so thankful for the life that God gave us together, but even more, I am so thankful he is peacefully resting and no longer in pain.

Join us for Cleve’s Memorial Service which will be held at Friendship Baptist Church in Silsbee, Texas at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
