Silsbee punches ticket to the post season

The Silsbee Tigers put away Cleveland easily with a 55-9 win on Friday to secure second place in District 10- 4A-D1 and enter the first round of the UIL playoffs. The playoff appearance marks the ninth straight for the Tigers and a first for Head Coach Randy Smith in his first season as a head coach. Silsbee (6-4, 4-1 in Dist. 10- 4A-D1) will face Carthage (7- 2, 4-2 in Dist. 9-4A-D1) on Friday at Abe Martin Stadium in Lufkin at 7:30 p.m. Carthage finished in third place in its respective district after defeating Chapel Hill 25-17 on Friday.
