Texas Department of Safety (DPS) troopers responded to a call at about 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday after a blowout caused a two-vehicular crash, sending one to the hospital. The crash occurred on FM 1131 approximately two miles south of Evadale.

According to reports, after troopers investigated the crash, it was believed that a 2000 Ford pickup that was traveling south on FM 1131 had a blowout, causing the truck to cross the center stripe before striking the side of a trailer being towed by a 1997 Peterbild truck tractor semitrailer.
