Jarrell “Jay” Bradford Hinkie, II, 61, of Silsbee, died August 2, 2017. He was born on July 11, 1956 in Jasper, to Betty Powell Hinkie and Jarrell Hinkie. Jay worked at South Hampton Refinery for forty-three years and was a firefighter for the Silsbee Volunteer Fire Department for twenty-six years. Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Hinkie; children, Loral Bradford Hinkie of Austin, Todd Hinkie and his wife Erecka of Beaumont and Hillary Suzanne Mike and her husband Jason of Spring; grandchildren, Carmin Hinkie and Daelan Hinkie; mother, Betty Hinkie of Silsbee; siblings, Marsha Jane Dubois and her husband Steve of Williamston, South Carolina, Karrell “Kay” Jean Wright and her husband Bill of Silsbee, Dwayne Hinkie and his wife Arlene of Beaumont and Patrick Ray Hinkie of Silsbee; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father. A gathering of Jay’s family and friends was from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 5 at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service was at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6 at the Silsbee High School Auditorium, 1575 Highway 96 North, Silsbee, with his interment following at R.S. Farmer Memorial Park, Silsbee.
