Lumberton landmark Adventure Kingdom closes

LUMBERTON — “THANK YOU FOR TEN YEARS — MARLON & TIFFANY” flashes on the digital marquee at the entrance to Adventure Kingdom, a Lumberton landmark and popular party spot. After sustaining damage due to Tropical Storm Harvey’s floodwaters, the location is closing after ten years and selling off all its equipment, including swan boats, lawn chairs, bumper cars and office furniture.

During Harvey, the part of U.S. 96 between Lumberton and Beaumont was a lake, effectively turning Lumberton, Silsbee, and several other towns in the Beaumont metropolitan area into islands. Adventure Kingdom was caught in the flood.
