Salespeople recognized

Sale consultants Tracy Poland (left) and Wlater Stephen of Silsbee Toyota were recently named into the Toyota 2017 Bronze Sales Society. The prestigous awardis part of the Toyota dealership recogniztion program which rewards sales professionals for their customer service, sales presentation and product knowledge. Stephens has been with Silsbee Toyota for almost 17 years and Poland has been with the dealership for more than three years.

Vergie Margaret Gaspard, 81, of Sour Lake, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. she was born in Crowley, Louisiana. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday, May 30) at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial following at Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake. Survivors include her children, Jeffrey James Gaspard and wife Wanda, Shirley Coburn and husband Danny, Jerry Gaspard and wife Tracey and Wilson Gaspard and wife Vickie, all of Sour Lake and Jimmy Gaspard of Kirbyville; siblings, Pearly, LJ, Percy, Larry and Peggy; and seven grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.

Homer Tyler Jr., 51, of Fred, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at the funeral home. Born in Woodville, he was a master diesel mechanic. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, he was a United States Army Vietnam War veteran and he was a retired millwright with Huntsman Chemical in Port Arthur. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sharon Smith of Evadale; children, Jeff Smith and wife Linda of Pearland, Shellie Miller and husband Ron of Cedar Park, Sherrie Colca and Haythem Dawlett of Lakeway and Shannon Lea and husband Greg of Evadale; sisters, Shawn and Rick Caddell of Evadale; Kathy Stines and husband Jim of Alvin and Martha Whitsitt of Evadale; and ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
