The Silsbee Little Theatre has changed their upcoming performance of their spring dinner theatre from “Beyond a Joke” to “Murder Me Once.” The show will be performed on remaining weekends in April by the Kirby-Hill House Players at the Silsbee Little Theatre. The play was written by John Rustan and Frank Semerano will be directed by Sheryl Brocato.

Water will be off while fire hydrant is installed

The City of Silsbee will be installing a new fire hydrant at the intersection of Lindsey and Gary Lane next Tuesday, April 16, weather permitting. If not, the installation will take place the following day, on Wednesday, April 17.

Orange Little Cypress- Mauriceville dominated the girls portion of the District 19 4A held its district track and field meet in Silsbee on Tuesday and Thursday April 2 and 4. The Lady Bears overpowered the field as they scored 178 points.

Silsbee tops Jasper in well-earned battle

The game started with Silsbee pouncing early in the bottom of the first with Jayden Miller hitting a line drive for a single, followed by Jaden Johnson with a grounder to center, bringing in Miller to put the Tigers ahead 1-0. Mikey Moshier would then hit another chopper to center, bringing in Johnson. The score would remain 2-0 until the top of the second when Jasper would score their first run off of a wild pitch by Matsyn Morris.

A longtime resident of Hardin County, he retired as a captain from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. After retirement he went into homebuilding/construction.
