Barbara Ann Gray, 82, of Jasper, died Friday, June 7, 2019. She was born in Longview, Texas to Ethel and Ernest Nerren. She was raised in Silsbee, graduating from Silsbee High School in 1955 and was a Lamar graduate of 1971. She was a teacher for 17 years at Port Arthur I.S.D. and a member of Rayburn Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, James Gray; daughter, Debra “Debbie” Whigham and husband Charlie of Silsbee; grandson, Christopher Whigham and granddaughter, Katherine Whigham of Silsbee; stepdaughter, Deborah Raeburn and husband Brant of Johnson City, Texas; step-daughter, Holly Penland and two sons of Kountze, Texas; and step-son, the late Russell Gray; brothers, Earl Nerren and wife Virginia and Clarence Nerren and wife Greta of Silsbee; and two nieces, three nephews and seven great nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 14 at Stringer-Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made with the American Heart Association or Rayburn Baptist Church.
