Dorf Edward Withers, 90, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 in Silsbee. Graveside service was Saturday, September 10 at Knupple Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.

He was a United States Navy veteran having served on the U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt between 1961 and 1967 and achieved the rank of Petty Officer, 3rd class.

William R. Mitchell Sr. was a son, brother, husband, father, Paw Paw, uncle, friend, ordained Deacon, a US Marine, an electrical Superintendent, but more important than all of these he was a child of God, a true Christian, who loved talking about and sharing the Word of God with everyone. He was born William Roger Mitchell, July 8, 1936, to George G. Mitchell Sr. and Olive Lanie Hawthorne Mitchell. He was a graduate of Silsbee High School.
