Three students at Silsbee High School have received honors as All State basketball players. The group included Monica Bottley, Jared Harris and Dre’lon Miller.

For the second straight year the Lumberton Boys Soccer team met District 20’s Brookshire Royal Boys Soccer Team in the Area Championships. With a similar result to last year, the Lumberton Boys came out on top 2-1 in a hard fought game.

The Little Cypress Mauriceville (LCM) Lady Bears used a big 5th inning to overpower the Silsbee Lady Tigers 16-6 on March 26. The Lady Tigers started the scoring off in the top of the first when Layla Baker cleared the bases with a hard-hit double, putting the Lady Tigers up 3-0. The lead didn’t last long as LCM answered back in the bottom of the first when third baseman Keylie Washburn smashed a three-run home run off the Tigers tying the game at three.

The Lady Tigers played a great defensive game Thursday in Silsbee against the powerful Bridge City Lady Cardinals. The Lady Cards came out on top 9-0.

Several members of the 2023-2024 Silsbee Lady Tigers basketball team have received all district honors. Coach Deborah Haynes was selected by District 19-4A coaches as the Coach of the year.

The Silsbee Tigers dominated the roster for the 2023-2024 District 19-4A to receive all district honors. District 19-4A boys basketball coaches honored Jared Harris and Dre’lon Miller as Co-District Most Valuable Players for the second straight year.

The Silsbee Lady Tigers defeated The West Orange Stark Lady Mustangs 19-2 in three innings. Strong batting and great pitching by both Madeline Byars and Taylor Tilley were the keys to victory in this game.

Evadale and Spurger athletes did well in the Barbara Rainey Relays held last Thursday at Evadale High School. Karlie Hoke of Evadale made a great showing in the women’s portion of the event.

The Kountze girls basketball team dominated the District 22-3A all district selections. The sad thing for other coaches in the district is that all of the selections were underclassmen.

Silsbee High School will be hosting two track meets this week and next. Thursday the Tiger Relays will be held with twelve teams participating.
