Members of the Silsbee and Lumberton soccer teams made all district honors for the 17-4A this past week. Here were the results: Most Valuable Player- Santiago Troncoso (Lumberton) Offensive Player of the Year- Jaxan Tallina (Lumberton) Defensive Player of the Year- Quincy Green (Lumberton) Newcomer of the Year- Luke Cody (Lumberton) Coach of the Year- Matt Wedel (Lumberton)

Silsbee could not find any momentum in a tough 17-0 loss to Little Cypress Mauriceville after four innings. The Lady Tigers struggled to maintain any defensive prowess as the LCM Lady Bears bats were hot throughout the game.

A great crowd of people showed up Wednesday to celebrate with Monica Bottley as she signed her letter of intent to play basketball for Tyler Junior College. Bottley, who is a four-year starter for the Silsbee Tigers seemed very excited to be furthering her basketball and academic career.

Lumberton had multiple players make a deep run in their divisions including two runners-up and two semifinalists in competition at the Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center. The Silsbee Lady Tigers left it all on the field Wednesday night with a 17-15 win over the Jasper Lady Bulldogs.. The Lady Tigers had a combined 20 hits for the game while Jasper collected 14. Big drives in the game were Madelyn Byars with a home run and Makenzie Russell with a grand slam.

Hardin County Youth Soccer (HCYSC) will be hosting multiple youth soccer camps this summer. The first camp entitled Play and Learn Soccer (PALS) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. from July 8 to July 11 at the Hardin County soccer fields at 7837 Park Road in Lumberton.
