A walk is not just good for your body, it’s also good for your soul. Physical activity, like walking, is one of the best ways to reduce stress and boost your mood. However, reports show walking rates are declining steadily in the United States.

Silsbee tops Jasper in well-earned battle

The game started with Silsbee pouncing early in the bottom of the first with Jayden Miller hitting a line drive for a single, followed by Jaden Johnson with a grounder to center, bringing in Miller to put the Tigers ahead 1-0. Mikey Moshier would then hit another chopper to center, bringing in Johnson. The score would remain 2-0 until the top of the second when Jasper would score their first run off of a wild pitch by Matsyn Morris.

Lady Raiders place third in District 19-4A track meet

Orange Little Cypress- Mauriceville dominated the girls portion of the District 19 4A held its district track and field meet in Silsbee on Tuesday and Thursday April 2 and 4. The Lady Bears overpowered the field as they scored 178 points.

Raiders boys soccer are area champions

For the second straight year the Lumberton Boys Soccer team met District 20’s Brookshire Royal Boys Soccer Team in the Area Championships. With a similar result to last year, the Lumberton Boys came out on top 2-1 in a hard fought game.

Silsbee loses game after fifth inning rally by LCM

The Little Cypress Mauriceville (LCM) Lady Bears used a big 5th inning to overpower the Silsbee Lady Tigers 16-6 on March 26. The Lady Tigers started the scoring off in the top of the first when Layla Baker cleared the bases with a hard-hit double, putting the Lady Tigers up 3-0. The lead didn’t last long as LCM answered back in the bottom of the first when third baseman Keylie Washburn smashed a three-run home run off the Tigers tying the game at three.
