Seven members of the Silsbee High School girls powerlifting team did extra well in regional competition to qualify to be in state competition. The Silsbee girls were the overall champions at the regional meet.

The Lumberton Raiders baseball team played Lufkin Hudson in a game Saturday that ended in a rare 5-5 tie. Hudson scored first when in the top of the first inning.

The Silsbee boys competed in the Bridge City Cardinal Relays on Thursday with Silsbee placing third behind Orangefield and Vidor. The Bobcats scored 104.3 points to win the meet.

The Silsbee Tigers picked up a 9-7 victory over Woodville on Tuesday and then travelled to Rogers, Texas for the Rogers Tournament and split four games. Taylor Wise was the winning pitcher.

The Silsbee girls track team scored 20 points in the Cardinal Relays. PNG won the meet with 129 points by dominating the relay events.

The Silsbee High School track team traveled to Bridge City on March 2 and competed very well in the meet. Coach Cory Harrison stated that if they had had one more relay team they would have had an opportunity to win the meet.

The Silsbee Tigers baseball team is off to a somewhat sluggish start. They opened their season with a 1-0 win over a very strong Nederland squad and then followed that with two losses and a tie.

The Silsbee Tigers defeated Liberty by a 102-72 score in the Bi-District round of the 4A basketball playoffs. At the start of the game it appeared that the Tigers would slaughter Liberty.

The Silsbee Lady Tigers basketball season drew to a close Friday afternoon, February 17, when they dropped an area round play-off game to Palestine by a score of 83-55. The Lady Tigers had defeated Huffman Hargrave in the Bi-District round by a 67-44 score.
