HOUSTON – Facing a team twice in back-toback games is a tall task and Lamar University was unable to find the same magic it had in Thursday’s victory, falling by the score of 93-74 at Sharp Gym. The loss prevented LU from winning consecutive games in a stretch that has seen the Red and White split their last six games.

The Silsbee JV baseball team opened their seson with a 5-1 victory over a solid Nederland team. The Tigers had two pitchers in this game.

The Lumberton High School Lady Raiders soccer team is having a winning season this year, and has celebrated a lot of victories over the years. But maybe not so much celebrated as the one on Tuesday night, Feb.

The Silsbee Tigers barely broke hit century mark in their final home game of the year against the West Orange Stark Mustangs, with a final score of 100-46. The Tigers had five players score in the opening quarter against their old rivals.

The Evadale Lady Rebels defeated the Sabine Pass Lady Sharks 66-14 on Tuesday, February 7. Whitley Carter led the scoring for the Lady Rebels with 19 points.

Lumberton (12-0-3, 6-0) boys soccer beat Jasper 8-0 to finish the first round of districts unbeaten. Goals by Connor Smith (2) Andrew Hansen (2) Luke Hansen, Mason Herreros, Beau Walkdrop, and Jaxan Tallina. Assists by Luke Hansen (2), Jaxan Tallina, Andrew Hansen, and Santi Troncoso.

The Lumberton Raiders had three football players sign Letters of Intent to play football at Henderson State University. Henderson State is a four year university playing Division II football in the Great American Conference.

The Evadale Lady Rebels defeated West Hardin 5837 to extend their overall record to 25-7 and their district record to 5-3. Evadale took a 13-7 lead in this game in the first quarter.

The Silsbee Lady Tigers placed first for the second time this year at the LCM Invitational. First place finishers were Annie Beebee with a total of 925 pounds, Emma Smith with a total of 845 pounds, Makayla Pete with a total 610 pounds, Aliyah Padilla withatotalof620pounds, Cara Heisner with a total of 785 pounds, Culiesha Busby with a total of 1,080 pounds, Auryana Gilder with a total of 480 pounds.
