The Evadale girls basketball record fell to 21-5 when they dropped a 47-21 decision to Big Sandy on Tuesday. The loss was the Rebels first district loss of the year and their record fell to 1-1.

The Lumberton boys ran their record to 12-13. They also upped their district record to 3-2 with a pair of wins over Little Cypress-Mauriceville and Bridge City.

The Evadale boys basketball team has been playing a powerhouse schedule this year. They saw their record fall to 9-16 last week when they played Bob Hope of Port Arthur and lost 51-48. They played a powerful Hardin Jefferson squad from the 4A ranks and lost to them by a 6740 score. Tuesday they played Lighthouse Home School in hopes of getting back on the winning track.

The Kountze Lady Lions have firmly entrenched themselves as one of the top teams in 3A in this area. They are off to a 22-2 start and are 5-0 in district play.

The Evadale Lady Rebs upped their season record to 20-4 with a 59-30 victory over the Beaumont Legacy Warriors. The engine behind the Rebs attack was MalloryDougharty,whohitfor20points.She added six rebounds, five assists and six steals.

The Kountze Lions ran their regular season record to 10-11 by splitting a pair of games with Warren and East Chambers last week. More importantly they upped their district record to 2-1 to stay in the playoff race.

The Silsbee Tiger girls basketball team ran its season record to 18-3 with a 72-40 win over Lumberton on Friday. The Tigers took a 27-9 lead over Lumberton in the first period. They upped that margin to 49--20 at the half.
