NEW CANEY – They came within one quarter of the school’s first regional football playoff but Lumberton’s Raiders left this rainy night with sadness and pride. Chapel Hill dumped 21 unanswered points on Lumberton in the fourth quarter, and ended a superb year for the District 10-4A Division 1 champions.

The Silsbee Tigers took a step forward on a rainy night in Spring and recorded the schools’ first ever 13-win football season. The unbeaten Tiger squad battled Madisonville in the Regional round of the playoffs and claimed a 60-20 victory.

The Silsbee Tigers will play Cuero in the Regional finals at NRG Stadium on Friday. The game will be a rare afternoon game.

The Silsbee Tigers played the Fort Worth Wyatt Chaparrals on Nov. 23 and the Tigers were defeated by a 10057 score.

The Evadale Boys and Girls Basketball tournament will be held on Dec. 1-3.

The Evadale Rebels opened their 2022-23 season with a 65-52 loss to Bridge City on Nov. 21.

The Evadale Lady Rebels ran their record to 10-1 with a 61-39 victory over Bridge City on Nov. 22.

Monica Botley hit for eight first quarter points as the Silsbee Tigers claimed a 62-45 victory over Beaumont United on Tuesday afternoon. On Monday they had claimed a 7067 victory over Port Arthur memorial.
