Six area players named All-Region
Before the University Interscholastic League suspended all spring sports, including softball, a few area teams were on the diamond on March 13.
Two Silsbee Tiger basketball players received superlative honors along with their coach as the All-District 22-4A Boys Basketball Team was announced recently by district coaches.

AUSTIN — The University Interscholastic League (UIL) officials announced it’s suspending all UIL-sanctioned contests due to the outbreak of COVID-19, effective March 16, all UIL interscholastic competition is suspended through Sunday, March 29.
ANAHUAC — The Kountze Lions went 1-2 in the annual Anahuac Baseball Tournament on March 5-7 at Anahuac High School.
EVADALE — The Evadale Rebels won 2 game and lost 1 in their annual Evadale Baseball Tournament on March 5 and 6 at Evadale High School.
KOUNTZE — Kountze had three players and their coach were honored on the All-District 22-3A boys basketball team that was announced by district head coaches.
SILSBEE 5, KOUNTZE 4 — The Lady Tigers picked up a non-district win on the road. After trailing 3-0 after the first inning, Silsbee tied the game with 3 in the second and added 2 in the fourth in the 4- inning affair. Sheridan Drake led SHS with 2 hits and Adysan Tatom drove in 2 runs. Abbie House took the loss for Kountze. She allowed 4 hits, struck out 3 and walked 2.
