Sandra Bouse Newton, 79, of New Caney, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Hermann Memorial Hospital Northeast in Humble, Texas. She was born in Houston, Texas to the late Walter and Stella York Mercer. She was a deputy sheriff for many years and had also worked for TDCJ.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial following at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Knupple and husband Keith of Beaumont, Robin Martinelli and husband Micky of New Caney, and Dawn Hewitt and husband George of Conroe; sister, Jeannie Fontenot of Ville Platte, Louisiana; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
