Jim Wood Sr. and his family are celebrating 50 years of having the Silsbee Radiator Service in business in Silsbee. Jim Wood Sr. operated the business with his sons Jimmy and Ted helping for the first 25 years until he retired, and Jimmy and Ted have operated the business since.Jim Wood Sr. and his wife are also noting 64 years of marriage this year.They now live in Trinity. Silsbee Radiator Service, located at the corner of State Highway 327 and Third Street, is celebrating 50 years of service.
It would almost seem like a miracle that, due to the changing times and the materials of which most radiators are now built, that a radiator shop like the one started by Jim Wood Sr. 50 years ago would still be in business.
