A woman and her son narrowly escaped a mobile home fire in the 8500 block of Bussey Road north of Silsbee shortly before noon Tuesday.
Kristin Edmonds said her husband was at work and she and her son Thomas, 11, were sleeping late when she awoke to crackling and saw the smoke. Within seconds after they escaped, the mobile home was fully engulfed.
