Lumberton- Magnolia Lane, a small event center in Lumberton, held a vendor mall on Saturday, August 20.

There were 14 vendors on hand to sell items such as homemade pens and artisan candles. All of the vendors were area small business owners from the surrounding area. For example, Chris Screws of 1 of 99 Woodcrafts came from Vidor to sell pens that he handcrafts himself.

“As a small business owner myself, I want to focus on local business,” said owner Angela Mehl.

This was the first vendor mall for Magnolia Lane. Mehl said she plans on hosting another one in November. Magnolia Lane has been open for a month.

Mehl said she opened Magnolia Lane because Hardin County was missing a small scale event center. The center offers a comfortable, affordable meeting space for a variety of events that include baby and wedding showers, parties, classes and even business meetings. Mehl has had equipment installed that can facilitate streaming for teleconferencing meetings.

The center can seat 60 people seated at tables and 75 in just chairs.
