Following the parade Friday night, Dec. 8, in downtown Kountze, people were invited to the First Baptist Church where they were served hot cocoa and cookies and watch the fireworks which originated from the old football field and could be seen for miles. Cheryl Bean photo

The Silsbee Public Library has a tree set up with the pictures of pups that are currently in foster care with Anna’s Angels. Each ornament has a photo of a pup and an item(s) on the back that the pup would like for Christmas. Come by and take an ornament and purchase the wish list on the back and return it to the Silsbee Public Library by December 21. All types of pet donations are being accepted and will be distributed to local shelters and rescues.
