A Lumberton Police officer was involved in a fatal shooting in which a suspect wielding a machete was shot and killed.
On Sunday, Oct. 9 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Lumberton EMS was dispatched to the 300 block of Church Loop off South Main. A man was reported to be acting strangely according to Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins. EMS called the police to assist with the call.
