The American Poolplayers Association (APA) was formed in 1981 by professional pool players Terry Bell and Larry Hubbart. The organization has nearly 250,000 players in the USA, Canada, Japan and Singapore and is the largest of its kind in the world.
There are several leagues in the association in Southeast Texas, including in Hardin County, Orange, Port Arthur, Beaumont and Bridge City.
