Smoke came pouring out of a window and other parts of the house as Silsbee firefighters arrived at 500 Roosevelt Drive Monday morning. An oven was said to have been self cleaning when fire began to spread in the kitchen. Several fire trucks arrived promptly at the scene. Photo by Dan Eakin
Silsbee firefighters have stayed plenty busy the last few days fighting house fires and dealing with burn ban violators.
Silsbee Fire Chief Robin Jones said Silsbee firefighters went to assist Lumberton firefighters at a burning home in Lumberton about midnight last Sunday. The house was totally involved in flames when firefighters arrived and was a total loss.
