Channeling the words of Frank Zappa, “Music, in performance, is a type of sculpture. The air in the performance is sculpted into something.” This sentiment came to life as 31 talented Tigers showcased their musical artistry at the ATSSB All-Region Band earlier this month.

The resounding phrase “Tournament Champions” echoed through the halls of Silsbee High School as SHS GOLD! triumphantly defended their title at Lamar University’s Vex tournament. This marks the second consecutive year that these Tigers have claimed victory, showcasing their robotic prowess in a field of over 50 teams, including formidable competitors from the Houston area.

Trash collection issues, selling of animals on roadways and Tx-DOT parade rules were among agenda items at a long special meeting of the Silsbee City Council Monday night. Members of the city council expressed concern that trash pickup service has been less than satisfactory in much of the city during recent months.
