Andrew Lee Renfro, Jr. was born on May 6, 1942 in Honey Island, TX to the late Andrew Lee and Mary Bean Renfro.

Rev. Renfro joined Primus Chapel under the leadership of Rev. Melvin Edwards and received his ministerial license on June 20th 1993. He was later ordained into the ministry on July 31st 1994 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Roy Sullivan. He was installed as Pastor of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in 2005. Rev. Renfro went into the ministry boldly and was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rev. Renfro proclaimed the uncompromising gospel at any place and at any time whether you wanted to hear it or not. He could be heard often after giving a word saying, “It’s tight but it’s right!” He had a melodious voice that he used to sing for the glory of God. God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called. Rev. Renfro was an instrument used by God to reach the masses. He stepped down as Pastor on October 25, 2020. Rev. Renfro can be quoted as saying, “I stepped down from the pulpit but not from the ministry.”

Rev. Renfro attended Waldo Matthews High School before entering the workforce. Rev. Renfro was always a hard worker. He worked several jobs in the community over the years before settling at Newark Paper Board where he worked until the company closed. Rev. Renfro was also affectionately known in the community as “The Lawn Mower Man” giving back in service to others.
