Dee Hatton

Earl Dee Hatton (neè Birch) 85, of Village Mills, TX passed away on May 21, 2023 in Kerrville TX. She was born in Houston TX to John James Birch and Edna Earl Birch on August 19, 1937. Dee married Thadeus Maurice Hatton on March 1, 1958 in Houston, TX.

Dee graduated from Smiley High School in Houston and attended East Texas Baptist College where she met her future husband. They moved to Honey Island in 1974, and she began working for Hardin County, including jobs in the County Extension Office, the District Clerk’s Office, and Indigent Health Care. She was appointed as County Clerk to complete a term in 1988, and then won elections for the following 3 terms, retiring in 2001. Dee was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church.

Dee was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Survivors include Son, John Hatton and his wife, Virginia of Kerrville TX. Daughter, Rachel Niemann, and husband, Todd of Oak Grove, MN. Grandchildren include Joshua Hatton and wife, Amy; Samuel Hatton; Abigail Niemann and husband, Lewis; Alison Vetter and husband, Michael; and Jacob Niemann. Great grandchildren include Bonnie, Charlotte and Walter Niemann; Gus and Francis Vetter; and Theodore Niemann. Sister, Sharon House of Grapeland TX.

Memorial Services will be held at Noon, Saturday, June 17th at Wildwood Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Williams officiating.
