Donald Allums Jr.

Donald “Dogeye” Jay Allums, Jr., 84, of Kountze, died Thursday, November 16, 2023. He was born on September 17, 1939, in Beaumont, to Joada Anderson Allums and Donald Jay Allums, Sr.

Dogeye was a devoted husband to his wife, Elaine, for 54 years and a loving father to his two daughters. He enjoyed his vegetable garden and loved to cook. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dogeye was a loyal friend who was blessed to have a close-knit group of friends – the Tea Time Boys. He loved to give candy to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters, Laurie Overstreet of Kountze and Leah Graham and her husband, Jeff, of Valley Springs, California; grandchildren, Bailey Rozanski and her husband, Logan, of Sour Lake; Miley Overstreet of Kountze; Cambria Graham of Orlando, Florida; and Colin Graham of Valley Springs, California; great-grandchildren, Sonnie Overstreet, Laya Arnold, Keenan Overstreet, and Donovan Overstreet; and brother, Dr. James Anderson Allums and his wife, Dee, of Nacogdoches. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Laura Allums.

Mr. Allums’ graveside service was at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Hooks Cemetery, 4792 Hooks Cemetery Loop, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
