James Bruce “Jimmy” Butler, 71, of Silsbee, Texas passed away Friday, April 5, 2024. He was born in Silsbee to the late Ethel Estelle Kite Butler and I.M. Butler. A longtime resident of Hardin County, he retired as a captain from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. After retirement he went into homebuilding/construction.

Funeral service was Sunday, April 7 at Freedom Fellowship Church in Silsbee under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee with burial following at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery, also in Silsbee.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda Butler; daughter, Jill Powell and husband David of Silsbee; son, Caleb Butler and wife Jessi of Silsbee; sisters, Myra Harrell and Henny Bodle and husband Bobby, all of Lumberton; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
