Oscar Lavoy Eason went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 13, 2022, surrounded by his family. Lavoy was born March 26, 1948, in Silsbee, Texas to Oscar Kelton ‘Doc’ and Mary Elizabeth Day Eason.

He worked in the logging industry and has owned D&L Logging for many years. Lavoy loved the Lord and enjoyed sharing the name of Jesus with all whom he came in contact with. He has prayed with many people in many places.

Lavoy loved and enjoyed his family and extended family. He loved to be surrounded by people who were excited about listening to stories he would tell of days gone by. He was always good with words and enjoyed writing poems for his loved ones. He also liked fishing, hunting, camping, and many other outdoor activities especially if it involved his family and friends.

Lavoy is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter Elmo, Vernon, and Ralph Eason; sisters, Vivian Barrett, Mildred Tanton, Sugarbowl Shaw, and Ada Mae Mobley.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Debbie JoAnn Jenkins Eason; sons, Morgan and wife Stormy Eason, and Scott Keith ‘Scotty’ Hutto; daughters, Ashley and fiancé Bubba Harless, and Debbie Jean ‘BB’ Hutto; sister, Sandra Bean Johnson; grandchildren Dylan Seth Eason and Kaitlyn Gray, Caitlyn Mechelle Moore and Steven Evans, Lance and Darien Eason, Bobbie and Dylan Gore, Kayla and Josh Wade, Skeye and Derek Laurent, Draven Hutto and Mady Unruh, Jonah Harless, Sarah Harless, Zarchary Day, and Anthony Day; great grandchildren to include Kai, Kinsley, Kampton, Jaxon, Kambrie, Starr, Aireona, Kayden, Ava, Isiah, Rileigh, Brailyn, Jaxon, Paxton, Beckette. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

Funeral services were Friday December 16, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Harvest Assembly of God in Spurger, Texas with interment following at Franks Branch Cemetery. Visitation began at 11 a.m. Friday until time of service.

Lavoy will be greatly missed by all who knew and love him.
