Martha Margaret Richardson was born January 18, 1952 in Beaumont, Texas and passed away March 6, 2024 in Sugarland, Texas.

Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Dick “Bugger Red” and Catherine Richardson and her brother, Stanley “Rusty” Richardson.

Martha is survived by cousin and friends and her babies Romeo, Miss K and Skizzie.

Martha attended Kountze schools all 12 years. She was a memorable student and was honored by her class as favorite, was varsity cheerleader and Miss Kountze in 1968.

Martha attended Lamar University and received a degree in education, majoring inmath.Shetaughtschoolin Silsbee where she also drove aschoolbus,andsheworked for Cleveland ISD. She later moved to El Paso and lived there for a number of years. She finished out her 30-year teaching career at Texas City. She also tutored a number of students which provided them a viable springboard to a successful career.

In 2011 Martha returned to Kountze following her retirement from teaching. She lived in her home until December 18, 2023 when she left Kountze for the final time.

Martha was a tour de force, a sassy free spirit whose spunk and charm created a lasting impression on all who knew her. She had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back if she could find it.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20 at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze under the pavilion.
