Reverend Lawrence Wayne “Skipper” Phillips, 85, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He was born in Texas City to Faye Myer Phillips and Homer Phillips. He was a United States Marines Reserves veteran and retired as the Reverend from First Baptist Church of Loeb.
Funeral service was Sunday, January 22 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee with burial following at Kirbyville City Cemetery in Kirbyville.
Survivors include his wife, Coy Phillips; children, Richard Phillips and wife Patricia of Livingston, Mike Phillips of Maud, Oklahoma, and Karon Huebel and husband Jeff of Lumberton; and six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
