Wanda Zenota “Zoe” Withers, 98 years, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2023, at her home, The Wellington, in Conroe, Texas. Zoe was born in Silsbee, Texas on September 13, 1924 to the late Alice and Bert Marshall. She graduated from Beaumont High School in 1942.

On October 6, 1945 she married First Lieutenant R.B. Withers, Jr. She worked as a PBX switch board operator with Southwestern Bell, then Gulf States, and the Port Arther News. In 1974, she and R.B. retired to Madisonville, TX to be closer to her daughter, Monte and their 3 grandchildren.

Zoe was a faithful and supportive wife, mother, mother in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her world. She was a role model for so many. She was a lifelong member of the Order of Eastern Star and a very faithful Baptist.

ZoemovedtoConroe,Tx in 2014 to The Wellington Assisted Living to be closer to her family. She loved playing bingo, watching The Wheel of Fortune, and enjoyed family visits. She was well-loved by the residents and the staff at The Wellington. A special thank you for the care she received while living there.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 59 years, R.B. Withers, Jr., her 5 brothers, and 1 sister.

She is survived by her daughter Monte Morgan (Madisonville, TX) and her son Bruce Withers (Beth) (Willis, TX) She was blessed with 5 wonderful grandchildren, Robert Morgan, Gus Morgan, Amanda Casey, Robert Withers,andLaceyWithers, 7 great-grandchildren, Cora Morgan, Tristan Morgan, Sophie Morgan, Aedan Casey, Ethan Casey, Emma Withers and Zoey Withers, and 1 great great-grandson, K.G.Goodmanandnumerous nieces and nephews.
