Evadale- After going 2-3 in the Silsbee tournament, Evadale won against Silsbee at home yesterday.
During the tournament, the Lady Rebels won the first match against Beaumon United 25-12, 25-17. Then, they took two straight losses to Vidor and Kirbeyville. On Saturday, Evadale split the wins and losses with a loss against Deweyville and a win over Port Arthur Memorial.
The player to watch during the tournament was #8, Whitley Carter, a Junior. Between Thursday and Saturday, she scored 51 kills and 9 solo blocks. Powell carried her share of attacks, as well. Dougharty came up with the most digs over the course of the tournament with 33.
Moving on from the tournament, the Lady Rebels hosted the Lady Tigers yesterday. Evadale took the first game 25-11. During the second game, Silsbee rallied for the win (18-25). Then, Evadale won games 3 and 4 25-17 and 25-19.
The Lady Rebels used a combination of spikes and quick dump- offs to keep Silsbee off guard.
Again, Whitely Carter led the team in stats with 37 attempts and 14 kills.
With the win over Silsbee, the Lady Rebels now have a record of 3-4.
