Silsbee Tiger girls claim 72-40 win over Lumberton on Friday

  • The Silsbee Lady Tigers defeated Lumberton by a 72-40 score on Friday. Ke’ina Martin (12) is attempting to drive the ball past an aggressive Randi Bowman (1) of Lumberton. Both schools usually have outstanding basketball teams. They will meet each other later in the season and there is a good chance they could meet in the play-offs.

The Silsbee Tiger girls basketball team ran its season record to 18-3 with a 72-40 win over Lumberton on Friday. The Tigers took a 27-9 lead over Lumberton in the first period. They upped that margin to 49--20 at the half. Things slowed in the second half. Silsbee outscored Lumberton 20-8 in the third period and each team scored 12 in the fourth.
