FBC Academy hosted its very first Spelling Bee on Thursday, April 25. Students were chosen to compete through a series of class spelling bees held from January through April. Approximately three students from each grade, 1st-8th, advanced to the School Spelling Bee to battle it out for Spelling Bee Champion.

A Hardin County jury Thursday sentenced Terry Johnson III of Beaumont to life in prison for a murder which had occurred in Lumberton on April 15, 2022. Bruce Hoffer, the prosecutor, said the defendant claimed self-defense in his two recorded interviews with Lumberton Captain Forest Cobb.

The SISD Floral Design class hosted a competition last Friday with over 50 teams in the running, including from Vidor, Lumberton, Dayton, Kountze, Huffman, and more. The event was said to have been truly a celebration of creativity and talent.
