SHS GOLD! Robotics Team wins State Championship

On Saturday, February 11, Silsbee High School’s robotics team, GOLD! Robotics, attended the UIL 4A VEX Robotics Texas State Championship in Houston where the two robots that they entered in the tournament took both first and second place against the best 4A robotics programs in the state.

Appeals court upholds Silsbee man’s sentence

The Ninth Court of Appeals in Beaumont has upheld the 52-year sentence of a Silsbee man convicted of murdering a Lumberton man in Kountze in May of 2015. Terrance Tyveone Williams was convicted of fatally shooting James Steven Clem, 27, in a pickup truck near the Shop-N-Go convenience store on Hwy 69 in Kountze.
